Dental Technology

Innovations in dental technology excite us dental nerds! However, we take a conservative approach to incorporating new technology into the practice. Research and thorough testing precede everything we do. We want you to have an excellent experience. That’s why we’ve embraced the technology that makes visits more efficient and allows us to detect potential problems before they have a chance to become even bigger problems.

Here are some of the dental technologies that we use:

  • X-rays – Digital X-rays are used in routine office visits to check the health of the teeth, gums and jaw. Quite often the beginning of a cavity is first detected in an X-ray image making X-rays critical to preventive dental checkups.
  • CariVU – This caries detection device locates cracks and other defects in the teeth that could lead to tooth decay and gum disease.
  • 3D Cone-Beam Scanner – Also known as cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), 3D scanner uses less radiation that regular medical CT scans, and it provides a detailed three-dimensional image of the mouth to assist with more complex procedures.
  • Soft Tissue Laser – Also known as dental lasers, the soft tissue laser can be used for some procedures. The laser reduces the need for anesthesia and sutures and minimizes bacterial infection.

We use dental technology like a trusted partner for your dental care. Give us a call to schedule, and see how dental technology can work for you!
